Behaviour Support Practitioner

Kelsey is one of our behaviour support practitioners in Sydney’s east, and she is available to welcome new clients from November 2026. She brings close to two years of experience supporting people with complex behavioural and mental health needs across the UK and Australia, including adults with intellectual disability and autism, and young people in therapeutic care. She enjoys working with people of all ages, backgrounds and support needs.

In the UK, Kelsey spent fourteen months putting behaviour support plans into practice in a supported living service, working closely with psychologists, psychiatrists and mental health nurses. In Australia, she has supported young people in therapeutic residential care and managed her own community support caseload on the Sunshine Coast. She has developed a particular interest in supporting people with demand-avoidant presentations, using choice, pacing and low-arousal approaches.

Kelsey grew up in Cornwall in the UK, where she worked as a beach lifeguard and surf instructor before moving into disability support. She still heads for the water whenever she can.

Kelsey understands that behaviour support can feel overwhelming, both for the person and those around them. She aims to lighten that load by creating a warm, comfortable and judgement-free space where people feel heard. Her approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and collaborative, with quality of life always at its heart. She takes time to understand each person’s interests, passions and goals, looking beyond behaviour to what it might be communicating. She uses careful observation and data to develop practical strategies that help everyone work together consistently.

Kelsey holds an honours degree in psychology and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced) at the University of Adelaide.

Every plan Kelsey writes is developed with regular clinical supervision from our director, Bo Hodgson, clinical neuropsychology registrar and specialist behaviour support practitioner, so you get Kelsey’s care and energy backed by the whole team’s depth.
